Friends Celebrate 2nd Year- Sat., May 8 at 9:30 am
The Board Members of the Friends of Glimmerglass State Park invite you to attend the 2nd Annual Meeting of Friends of Glimmerglass State Park on Sat., May 8 at 9:30am in the Beach Front Room at Glimmerglass State Park.
We are excited to show our new PowerPoint presentation- Who are the Friends of Glimmerglass State Park- which was made possible by a grant from Parks & Trails New York. There will be a brief information session about the Friends accomplishments and future developments.
A Continental Breakfast will be served in recognition of all the volunteers who contribute to the success of the Friends of Glimmerglass State Park.
Please join the DOAS at 8am for a guided bird walk along the Beaver Pond Trail prior to our meeting.

Contest begins at Earth Festival on April 10 (posted April 1st 2010)
Stop by the Friends display at the Earth Festival in Milford, NY to enter the "Name Our New Friend" Contest ! A beaver has made a new home in the Beaver Pond at Glimmerglass State Park. Suggest a name for our new park friend for a chance to win a 12" Plush Beaver. The contest will end on Sept. 6. The Board Members will announce the winner at our National Public Land Day Event on Sept. 25.
-Names can be sent by email or stop at the Park Office
-In the event of a tie, the winning name choice entrants will be compiled and one winner will be drawn.
-Need not be present to win.
Nature Center to Open (posted April 1st 2010)
The FOGSP will open a temporary Nature Center in the Winter Tubing Warming Hut while fundraising for a dedicated Nature Center. The Center will have a nature reading area, special nature programs, displays, and nature crafts for children. We hope to open on Memorial Weekend. Watch for more information.
